WHY DO THIS ? As a marathoner (for training
purposes), I have to keep track of my mileage. One day, just out of curiousity, I figured how many miles it would take
me to "virtually" cross Canada from sea to sea. My husband, a self-proclaimed marketing guru, thought it was a
great idea but (in his own words) not 'sexy enough'. "You should virtually run around the world !"
So, on June 14th, 2001, I started to keep track
of my miles including races and tracked those miles on my map from my hometown, Thamesford, Ontario, Canada
heading east along latitude 43.07N. The circumference at 43.07N is
29,260 km (18,182 miles). (At the equator the circumference is 40,074 km.) I refer math
nerds to http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/gen99/gen99027.htm So far I've run over 17,650 km (60%) in
a little over 11 years. I'm more than half way there !!

What's New?
As of January 1, 2012, I am still virtually running through the province of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of
the People's Republic of China.
